<p>Joan (Larsen) Suling, age 79, of Eldon, Missouri, passed away Friday, February 10, 2012 at St. Mary’s Health Center in Jefferson City, Missouri.</p>
<p>Joan was born in 1932 in Holstein, Iowa as the only child of Jeppe a<a href="http://rekusfh.com/obituary/joan-larsen-suling/attachment/web-pic-3/" rel="attachment wp-att-1275"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-1275" title="Web Pic" src="http://rekusfh.com/wp-content/uploads/Web-Pic1-210x300.jpg" alt="" width="210" height="300" /></a>nd Florence Larsen.  She grew up in Galva, Iowa where she excelled in high school academics and basketball.  During high school she met the love of her life, Virgil Suling, and they were married on December 27, 1953.  Joan and Virgil have lived in Iowa, Missouri and Florida until they retired in 1992 and settled in Eldon, Missouri.  Joan loved to watch her grandsons play sports, and she also enjoyed playing cards, traveling, cooking and writing letters to her friends and family.  </p>
<p>She is survived by her husband, Virgil Suling of the home; daughter, Shaun Stuart of Alexandria, Virginia; son, Scott Suling and wife Patti of Rocky Mount, Missouri and 3 grandsons, Wyatt and Walker Suling of Rocky Mount, Missouri and Nathan King of Beatrice, Nebraska.  She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Sidney Baskett.<br />
 <br />
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. with a service immediately following at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 13, at Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon, Missouri.  Pastor Virgil Dennis will officiate.</p>
<p>A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14, in Galva Cemetery in Galva, Iowa.</p>
<p>Memorial contributions are suggested to the Joan Suling Memorial Fund c/o Rekus Funeral Home, 902 E North Street, Eldon MO 65026.</p>

<p>Richard “Smiley” E. Sinderson, of Rocky Mount, died Monday, February 6, 2012, at his home.  He was born in Osceola on <a href="http://rekusfh.com/obituary/richard-smiley-eugene-sinderson/attachment/web-pic-2/" rel="attachment wp-att-1257"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-1257" title="Web Pic" src="http://rekusfh.com/wp-content/uploads/Web-Pic-241x300.jpg" alt="" width="241" height="300" /></a>November 24, 1932, a son of the late Stuart and Edna (Houser) Sinderson.  On November 24, 1992, in Rocky Mount, he was married to Melba Butner, who preceded him in death on December 27, 1997.</p>
<p>Richard was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of the Rocky Mount Am Vet Post 108 and Miller County VFW Post 2442.</p>
<p>Those who survive him include:  his brother, Frank Sinderson and wife Carolyn of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; sister, Mary Lou Wiss and husband Leslie of St. Charles; two nieces and two nephews.</p>
<p>Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 9, with services immediately following at 12:00 p.m. at Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon.  Bro. Charlie Kempf will officiate.  Interment with military honors under the direction of Miller County VFW Post 2442 will be held in Eldon City Cemetery.</p>
<p>Memorial contributions are suggested to American Cancer Society.</p>

<p>Ramona Larimore, age 78, of Tuscumbia, died Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at Osage Beach Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.  <a href="http://rekusfh.com/obituary/ramona-spradling-larimore/attachment/larimore-ramona/" rel="attachment wp-att-1236"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-1236" title="Larimore, Ramona" src="http://rekusfh.com/wp-content/uploads/Larimore-Ramona-240x300.jpg" alt="" width="240" height="300" /></a>She was born in Phillipsburg on May 15, 1933, a daughter of the late Robert and Bertha (Adams) Spradling.  On June 5, 1953, in Lebanon, she was married to Johney Larimore, who preceded her in death in September 1991.<br />
 <br />
Those who survive her include:  four children, Katherine Brown and husband Gerry of Eldon, Jackey Larimore of Lake Fork, Idaho, Bertha Johnston and husband Jason of Tuscumbia and Mark Larimore and wife Kristina of Eugene; 18 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren and one brother, Winnie Spradling of Lewisburg, Kansas.</p>
<p>Her son, Johney Larimore; grandchildren, Travis and Victoria Brown and nine brothers and sisters, also preceded her in death.</p>
<p>Her body has been cremated under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon.</p>

<p>Paralee Jane Son, age 80, of Holts Summit, formerly of Eldon, died Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at St. Marys Health Center.  <a href="http://rekusfh.com/obituary/paralee-jane-meredith-son/attachment/sonwebpic/" rel="attachment wp-att-1241"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-1241" title="SonWebPic" src="http://rekusfh.com/wp-content/uploads/SonWebPic-277x300.jpg" alt="" width="277" height="300" /></a>She was born in Iberia on August 14, 1931, a daughter of the late Walter Otto and Oma (Whittle) Meredith.  On July 11, 1953, in Eldon, she was married to John Edsel Son, who preceded her in death on June 29, 1996.</p>
<p>Paralee lived in Eldon for 48 years.  She was a 1949 graduate of Eldon High School and worked as a checker for Kroger until 1956.  She then became a homemaker and assisted her husband with his electrical contracting business.  Paralee enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing, gardening, camping, fishing, canoeing and spending time with her family and friends.  While residing in Eldon, Paralee attended and was a member of the Ninth Street Christian Church.  She was currently attending Harvest Time Ministries in Holts Summit. </p>
<p>Those who survive her include:  her daughter, Nira Neises and husband Howard of Holts Summit; one granddaughter, Amber Neises of Holts Summit; one brother, James Meredith of Iberia and one sister, Maxine Catron of Springfield.</p>
<p>Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4 with services immediately following at 12:00 p.m. at Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon.  Rev. Charles Norris will officiate.  Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Eldon.</p>
<p>Expressions of sympathy are suggested to Harvest Time Ministries, 100 Chet Jac Dr., Holts Summit, MO  65043.</p>

Wilson and Roberta L. Gill.</p>
<p>Connie enjoyed listening to country music and loved to draw and write.</p>
<p>Those who survive her include:  her mother, Roberta L. Gill of Eldon; her father, Toby G. Wilson and wife Hope of Springfield; three sisters, Amy Dyar of Eldon, Cora Wilson of Springfield and Madeline Wilson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one brother, Bryton Smith of Dallas, Texas; her grandparents, Bonnie Basham, of Eldon and Larry and Theresa Wilson of Springfield and several aunts, uncles and cousins.<br />
 <br />
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, at Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon.  Rev. Jerry Frye will officiate.<br />
 <br />

<p>Rita Sue Dockery, age 59, of Eldon, died Tuesday, <img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-1170" title="dockery-rita" src="http://rekusfh.com/wp-content/uploads/dockery-rita-280x300.jpg" alt="dockery-rita" width="280" height="300" />January 17, 2012, at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehab.  She was born in St. Louis County on February 25, 1952, daughter of the late William A. Dockery III and Georgia Compton. </p>
<p>Those who survive her include:  two uncles, Bob Compton of Columbia and Carl Compton of St. Louis and one aunt, Anna McCade of Texas.</p>
<p>Her body has been cremated under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon.  Private interment will be held in High Point Cemetery at a later date.</p>
<p>Memorial contributions are suggested to the Friends of Animals Humane Society, 302 E North Street, Eldon MO 65026.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Dorothy was a homemaker and a life-long resident of Eldon.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>She graduated from </span><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Eldon</span><span style="font-size: 12pt;"> </span><span style="font-size: 12pt;">High School</span><span style="font-size: 12pt;"> in 1949.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>On </span><span style="font-size: 12pt;">September 1, 1951</span><span style="font-size: 12pt;">, in </span><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Harrison</span><span style="font-size: 12pt;">, </span><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Arkansas</span><span style="font-size: 12pt;">, she was united in marriage to Edward McDaniel, who preceded her in death on </span><span style="font-size: 12pt;">May 4, 1974</span><span style="font-size: 12pt;">.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>To this union two children were born:<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Laura Elaine and David Edward, both deceased.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>On </span><span style="font-size: 12pt;">June 25, 1980</span><span style="font-size: 12pt;">, she married Kelly Franklin, who also preceded her in death.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Dorothy was an active member of the </span><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Aurora</span><span style="font-size: 12pt;"> </span><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Springs</span><span style="font-size: 12pt;"> </span><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Baptist</span><span style="font-size: 12pt;"> </span><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Church</span><span style="font-size: 12pt;"> where she taught Sunday school for many years.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>She was a tireless supporter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, having lost both of her children to this disease.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Dorothy was a wonderful Christian lady who touched the lives of many people and everyone who knew her was blessed in some way by her compassionate and unselfish love.</span></span></p>

<p>Homer “Jay” Quinn, age 84, of Eldon, died Friday, January 6, 2012, at Eldon Nursing and Rehab.  He was born in Bagnell, on April 14, 1927, a son of the late Homer Jackson and Roxey (DeVore) Quinn.  <img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-1155" title="obit-pic10" src="http://rekusfh.com/wp-content/uploads/obit-pic10-212x300.jpg" alt="obit-pic10" width="264" height="359" />On June 10, 1961, in Jefferson City, he was married to Dixie Hadley, who survives at the home.</p>
<p>Jay graduated high school from School of the Osage where he was known for his outstanding basketball skills.  He owned and operated Marberry Quinn Insurance Agency in Lake Ozark and pastored Mt. Herman Baptist Church, Greenridge Baptist Church and Bagnell Baptist Church.  He was interim pastor for Sunrise Beach First Baptist Church and Ulman Baptist Church.  He was also a supply pastor for numerous churches in the Miller County and Lamine Baptist Associations.  He was formerly on the board of the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home and was a member of Eldon First Baptist Church.  Jay enjoyed studying the Bible and watching his grandson grow up. </p>
<p>Others who survive him include: two daughters, Cathy Kolb and husband Larry of Jefferson City and Michelle “Chellie” Musick and husband Jason of Eldon; one grandson, Braden Atkinson; one sister, Freda Strange of Eldon and numerous nieces and nephews.</p>
<p>Jay was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorraine Quinn in 1960.  His two grandchildren, Travis and Tracy Bryant and sister, Betty Schuchmann, also preceded him in death.</p>
<p>Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 9, at Eldon First Baptist Church.  Bro. David White will officiate.  Interment will be in Eldon City Cemetery.</p>
<p>Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, at Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon.</p>
<p>Memorial contributions are suggested to the Riley-Lamm Cemetery or First Baptist Church Piano Fund.</p>
